The program is open to under-represented students in the sciences and mathematics. Students majoring in biology, chemistry, computer science, geology, ISAT, mathematics, physics, and related areas who meet the selection criteria below are eligible to apply.
Application
Twelve students will be accepted into the program for the Fall 2005 semester. The application process requires submission of a complete application package (see below). The Selection Committee will review all applications received by the deadline and selected students will be notified
promptly. The minimum criteria that will be used for initial screening will be:
- Submission of all application materials
- Overall GPA of 2.75
- Reference letters
- Completion of one semester of biology
- Completion of one semester of chemistry
Students whose applications indicate dedication, academic and career plans and superior academic record will be selected to participate in the AMP Scholars program. Preference will be given to students who express or demonstrate an interest in pursuing postgraduate studies. Support
Participants will receive a one-time stipend of $1000 for the Fall semester. Applicants will be eligible to re-apply in the Spring 20056semester.
