The JMU-UCC REU Program is funded by the National Science Foundation. This past summer, students from six US universities traveled to Ghana to conduct research at the University of Cape Coast. Each student was supervised by a faculty member at the host institution. The projects that were carried out ranged from ecological studies on butterflies to extraction of active ingredients from herbs.
