What happens when you make applesauce?
Recipe for applesauce: Drive to an orchard and pick apples. Wash, core, peel and slice them. Remove worms. Cook apple slices in a sauce pan with a small amount of water. Cool when done (mushy), then add sugar and cinnamon to taste. Share with friends and expect compliments...
Question: What happens to the apples when you cook them? Consider the effects of high heat on the integrity of structures at the level of: organism, organs, cells, organelles, macromolecules, small molecules, atoms.
