Note that Michael T. died May 29, 1883 in Meeme. His death certificate lists Rev. Aug. Dunsl as conducting the funeral ceremony but, according to archivist Kris Matthies in Green Bay Diocese, the Rev. August Durst
was pastor at St. Gregory in the village of St. Nazianz in the Town of Eaton. This is located about 8 miles from Meeme and appears to be the church that the family attended.
So this tells us that Michael T.
(original emigrant) owned his farm for a while and it looks like his son Michael John sold his land to younger brother Frank. I have a copy of the 1878 plat map and the farms are adjacent.
Also note that our last name changed between 1872 and 1878!
Michael's funeral record indicates he is buried in Holy Trinity Cemetery, School Hill, Manitowoc Co, WI. This is actually in or near Meeme.
He is not listed in transcriptions I found on a web site in 2001. Therefore, he is probably buried there but has no existing headstone.

Mrs. Anna Dendinger, 69, pioneer county resident, died suddenly Friday at the home of her son, Maurice Dendinger, east of Hartington. Funeral
services for Mrs. Dendinger were held Monday morning at Holy Trinity Catholic church. Rev. John Farrald officiated.
Mrs. Dendinger is survived by two sons, Maurice and Mark of Hartington; and two brothers, Ted
Hirschman of Hartington and Bill Hirschman of Coleridge. Two children preceded her in death.
Burial was in St. Michael's Cemetery under the direction of the Wintz Mortuary. Pallbearers were Chalmer Foulk,
Homer, Howard and Lyle Hirschman, Dwain Dreesen and Don Dendinger. Honorary pallbearers were Mrs. Margaret Hahn, Mrs. Joe Schindler, Mrs. Art Walz, Mrs. Bill Dresden, Mrs. Ann Foulk, and Mrs. Henry Neuhalfen.
Anna Hirschman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hirschman, was born October 6, 1888, at Coleridge. She was married January 22, 1914, to Albert M. Dendinger, at Hartington. Mr. Dendinger died September 4,
1951. Mrs. Dendinger was a member of the Christian Mothers. She lived in this area all her life.

Father William Dendinger
Father Dendinger is a
native of Coleridge, Nebraska. He graduated from Mount Michael High School, the first graduating class. After college at Conception Abbey in Missouri, he attended Aquinas Institute for theology and was ordained for the
Archdiocese of Omaha in 1965. From 1965 to 1970 he taught in the Catholic high schools in Petersburg and Elgin, now known as John XXIII Central Catholic.
In 1970 he joined the Air Force Chaplain Service for a
three-year commitment, which ended up 31 years. Yes, he has have been all over the world. In the Far East he served in Japan and Korea. He had many short tours of duty in the Far East, including Viet Nam, Thailand,
Cambodia, Laos, Guam, Taiwan and the Philippines. Although 99% of his ministry was with Air Force personnel, he did get a chance to see the diverse and many cultures of the Far East.
In the European Theater he
served in Germany but there were many opportunities to get to England, Ireland, France, Italy, East Berlin and East Germany before the reunification. He loved the tour in Germany and still has a taste for German beer
and French wine. In Italy, it's the food!
In the States he served in Alabama, California, Colorado, Virginia and Washington DC. His most rewarding assignment was at the Air Force Academy working with the cadets.
Cadets had all the challenges of college students and the rigor of becoming Air Force Officers.
His last assignment was in Washington DC as Chief of the Air Force Chaplain Service. He was responsible for all the
chaplain ministries: Catholic, Orthodox, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, etc. It was truly an ecumenical and interfaith experience. As Chief of the Chaplain Service he spent 70% of his time visiting our operations worldwide:
Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates and Turkey.
As to family, he has three brothers living here in Nebraska and two sisters, one in Rochester MN and one in Bethesda MD.
