Immigration

It looks as though there have been at least seven separate Dentinger immigrations to the United States over about a sixty year period.  Some of this is documented and some is deduced from the information in Jerry Dentinger's Chronicles.  I have listed only the males for simplicity.  The order of immigration seems to be:

Joseph, son of Joseph (Indiana) between 1811 and 1822
Antoni, son of Antoni (Nebraska) June 1836
Anton, son of Jakob (Canada) June 1838
Ferdinand, son of George (Ohio) between late 1842 and early 1843
Franz Ludwig (Franciscus Ludovicus) (Minnesota) between 1844 and 1850
Joseph, son of Jacques (Rochester) between May 1871 and June 1872
August, son of Jean Charles (Wisconsin) 26 July 1872
Jean Charles, son of Jean Charles (Wisconsin) 27 September 1872

Below are some details.

SOUTHERN INDIANA GROUP   Joseph, (b. 1783) born in France Died in Ohio.
Son Joseph (b. 1811) in France, died in Indiana
Daughter Barbara (b. 13 May 1822) in Ohio.
Therefore, Senior Joseph immigrated between 1811 and 1822 with wife and son

NEBRASKA    Antoni Dentinger  (b.1778) son of Antoni
From report of the Ohio Genealogical Society v 23 issue 4 1983.
Passenger list from national archives microfilm series M237  Item 539 Roll 30.
ELIZABETH arrived in New York from Havre on 27 June 1836.  He arrived with his whole family and all aboard this ship were listed as farmers bound for Ohio.

CANADA    Anton (b.1810)  son of Jakob
Listed on the ALBANY arriving in New York June 7, 1838 with wife Catherine.

OHIO
Ferdinand (b. 1820) married his first wife in France in June of 1842.  Their first child, Margarette, was born about 1843 presumably in Ohio.  Therefore, immigration was probably in late 1842 or early 1843.

MINNISOTA  Franz Ludwig (Franciscus Ludovicus) (b. 1788) father of Ludwig (b. 1824, was the immigrant.  Must have immigrated after May of 1844, because son Pilippe Jacques was born in Oberroedern on that date.  Son Joseph was born in Buffalo, NY on November 1850, so the family must have immigrated within that six year time span between 1844 and 1850.
He probably immigrated with his second wife Catherine, son Ludwig from his first marriage [he would be between the ages of 20 and 26], and the young children Marie Anne, Caroline, and Pilippe Jacques.  Concerning the other two children from his first marriage, Madeleine would have been 22 years old in 1844, so may well have been married and stayed in France.  The second child Georges died in France.  It is possible that Ludwig immigrated by himself and the rest of the family came later.  So, where are the descendents of Pilippe and Joseph, who was born in New York?

ROCHESTER    Joseph (b. 1882) in France. (Jacques, Therese, Matthias, Joannes Michael, Joannes Michael.  Died Rochester NY.  Married in Alsace 14 May 1871 and first child born in Rochester in 28 June 1872.  Notes say they arrived in New York, so they must have immigrated between those dates.

WISCONSON
Jean Charles (b. 1852) in France.  Married in France to Josephine Roy and arrived in New York on 27 September 1872 on THE QUEEN.  They first settled in Buffalo, NY.
August (b. 1854) in France.  He immigrated on THE HUMBOLDT 26 July 1872.  He married in Wisconsin.
