This Jacob Joseph was accidentally shot in the chest by his brother in 1911 with a 38 revolver. The bullet was left in place and he was ok thereafter.
In 1932 he bought 56 acres near Lacombe and built a nice log house. He worked for Ford Motor Company in New Orleans and when it shut down in 1942, the family moved to Norfolk Virginia for a few years. In the late 1940s and 50s he owned a body shop in New Orleans.

BATON ROUGE - Vivian Elmire Bridges Dendinger, 85, died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2001, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Baton Rouge.
She was a native of Ponchatoula, a former parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church and past president of the Ponchatoula Gardenettes.
She is survived by her husband, Theodore J. "Teddy" Dendinger of Baton Rouge; one daughter, Barbara Jean Dendinger Brown Acton of Tickfaw; two sons, Theodore Joseph Dendinger of Killian and Kenneth Lee Dendinger of Augusta, Ga.; two sisters, Cathleen Bridges Tiaconi of Bay St. Louis, Miss., and Dorothy Bridges Donnow of New Orleans; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two infant sons, Rodney and Ronald Dendinger; her parents, Virgil Harrison and Monica Snow Praetorius Bridges; and one brother, Edmund Virgil Bridges.
A memorial service will be Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ponchatoula, from 9:30 a.m. until Mass at 10. Burial will be in St. Joseph Abbey, Covington.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, P.O. Box 388, Ponchatoula 70454 or the charity of one's choice.
