• have only two premolars and four, not six, teeth in tooth comb
• specialized leapers with very long hindlimbs

    a.    Avahi laniger (woolly lemur)

• only nocturnal indriid
• move by leaping
•  issue long, high-pitched whistles

b.    Propithecus verreauxi (white sifaka) and P. diadema (diademed sifaka)

• diurnal
• primarily vertical clingers and leapers
• in terrestrial environment may move by bipedal hops

    c.      Indri indri (indris)

• diurnal
•  tailless with short face
• extremely long feet, hands, and slender arms
• move by leaping and also hang
• extremely vocal
