Minor in Materials Science |

The minor in materials science includes four major components: (1) a choice of an entry-level introductory course in materials science, (2) a lecture/laboratory course that emphasizes more specialized areas in materials science, (3) materials science electives that can include all of the specialized courses, and (4) research or an additional materials science lecture/laboratory experience. Courses are offered through the departments of chemistry, geology and environmental studies, integrated science and technology, mathematics, and physics. Required Courses Foundations : Structure & Properties (3 credits) MATS/ISAT 431 : Materials Science in Manufacturing Foundations : Processing & Performance (3 credits) MATS/ISAT 436 : Micro-/Nanofabrication and Applications Advanced Electives (9 credits) Research or Additional Materials Laboratory Course (3 credits) Total Credit Hours: 18 |
