Jim Barker has been coordinating the helicopter for this project. After talking
with him yesterday, Columbia will not have the buckets in VA until March 6th (they will be getting them to and from the site). They will be in the area for a while
since they also have a project in NC. We will hopefully have a date pin-pointed soon, but right now, the window for this to happen is between March 6th and the
end of the month. Any problems, let me know! Thank you all for your patience and support!

We are still on for liming this friday (the 19th). I talked with the Parkway,
they will plow what snow does not melt off the road on the way to the field. Columbia helicopter will send the fuel truck up the night before. The
helicopter will be on site by 7:45. I will need all helicopter crew members and equipment operators there by 7:15 to go over operations one last time,
re-program radios to the helicopter frequency, and other last minute details. Any questions or suggestions, let me know!
Thank you-

For your information:
The st. mary's liming project went smoothly on Sat. with all streams recieving the targeted amounts between 9 am and 330pm. Dawn said this morning that all the
limestone made it into the channels of the streams (none on the banks) and was distributing nicely down from the point of introduction. The rainstorm we had yesterday was good for assisting the distribution.
The only hitch in the liming operation occurred when the pilot pushed the wrong button at chimney branch and dropped the bucket into the stream. It was
retrieved within an hour by a team hiking in and reconnecting it to the cable.
Our next sampling date for hiking the watershed is April 10. We have not been
approved to install the isco automatic samplers in the wilderness yet.
RC - I'd like to have all the samples processed, recorded and up to date by Friday
for the St. Mary's project. Nik - Make sure we get the ICP-MS done on last weekend's samples and cross checked carefully with the NIST standards - these
will be the last we have before the water chemistry is changed by the liming. If you encounter any problems, let me know asap.
Thanks.
